Violet June Paulsen, 85, passed away Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015, at her home. Visitation: 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Dec. 10, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral: noon Thursday, Dec. 10, at the funeral home officiated by the Rev. Vicki Standley. Burial: Lafayette Cemetery.
Violet is survived by her children, Kenneth (Sharon) of Ardmore, Okla., Carolyn of Alburnett, Kevin (Jenny) of Cedar Rapids, Sheryl (Ed) of Alburnett and Barbara (Moe) of Central City; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, sister and a grandson who died in infancy.
Violet was born June 9, 1930, to George and Iola (Conley) Switzer. On Aug. 23, 1946, she married Albert "Dave" Paulsen in Olin. He passed away in 2000. Violet worked at care facilities/nursing homes in the area as a dietary supervisor until her retirement. Violet enjoyed crocheting, but her greatest love of all was her family and the time spent with them.
