Vileta, Luella
Luella Vileta, 86, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy following a short illness. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Jude Catholic Church by Fr. Mark Reasoner. Burial: St. John Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Teahen Funeral Home where friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. and again after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.
Luella is survived by her five children, Daniel (Carol) of Mascote, Fla., Barbara (Charles) Reuter and James (Annelle), both of Cedar Rapids, Charles (Shelly) of Iowa City, and Bob (Michele) of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Evelyn Vileta of Shueyville; and an extremely large extended family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Her parents; husband, Richard; a brother and three sisters preceded Luella in death.
Luella was born Jan. 28, 1924, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Daniel and Agnes Seiler Waite. She married Richard Vileta on Dec. 31, 1940, in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1975. Luella was a homemaker and worked as a tailor at Foreman & Clark, Killian's, and retired from Younkers.
Luella enjoyed crochet, crafts and being a talented seamstress for all. She liked to play bingo and spend time on the computer. Luella loved being with her family and will be greatly missed by them.
Instead of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Luella's name.
