Victor J. Mougin, 86, of Iowa City, passed away Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Iowa City. Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Iowa City.

Victor was born on March 11, 1928, in Cosgrove, Iowa, the son of Raphael and Doliena (Brennan) Mougin. He was united in marriage to Leona M. Parsons on Dec. 26, 1951, at St. Mary's Church, Iowa City. Victor served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Victor was a farmer most of his life. He also worked for Rath Packing Plant in Columbus Junction, Bandag in Muscatine, and Streb Construction in Iowa City. Victor is a past member of the Knights of Columbus, Fraternal Order of Eagles and Moose Lodge 1096, Iowa City.

Victor is survived by his wife, Leona; five children, Randy (Becky) Mougin, Columbus Junction, Dale (Doris) Mougin, Columbus Junction, Deb (Joe) Gilmere, Washington, Mark (Ginger) Mougin, Byhalia, Miss., and Sherri (John) Hunt, Wapello, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ed Mougin, Frank (Vivian) Mougin and Charles (Sandy) Mougin; and three sisters, Darlene Kabela, Mary Ann Walters and Juanita (Harold) Hunter.

Victor is preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Jean Mougin; and brothers-in-law, Frank Kabela and Lawrence "Whitey" Walters.
