Mary Anne Victor, 53, died Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, of complications from her ongoing cancer treatment. A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 13, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m., at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, 4200 First Ave. NE, in Cedar Rapids. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Church in Marion, with burial following at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Mary Anne was born to Marge and Al Victor on May 5, 1957, in Marion, Iowa. She attended St. Joseph's Grade School, Marion High School, and Simpson College in Indianola, where she studied music and theatre. Mary Anne settled in the Des Moines area. She worked in the telephone industry for Quest for several years and then opened Vic and Andy's, an entertainment establishment in Des Moines that she operated until recently.
Mary Anne is survived by her sister, Barbara Bowden, and her children, Tish, Todd and Tiffany, along with her 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brother, Jim Victor; brother, Tom (Mary) Victor, and their five children, Jodie, Julie, Megan, Tim and Chris, and two grandchildren; and brother, Mick (Karen) Victor, and their two children, Amanda and Izzie. Mary Anne was a mom, sister, aunt and good friend to many.
Mary Anne had the most compassionate doctors, nurses, and techs that anyone could have.
