VICTOR WILLIAM DANNENBRINK
Manchester
Victor William Dannenbrink, 73, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, at his home. He was born March 22, 1948, in Alton, Ill., the son of Victor and Marietta (Mackey) Dannenbrink. Vic was raised and educated in Marshalltown. Vic enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country honorably during the Vietnam era.
On Sept. 20, 1968, Vic was united in marriage to Diana Bearbower at Fort Hood, Texas. One son, Craig, was born to this union. Vic worked for Exxon in Houston, Texas, until 1973 when the family moved to Cedar Rapids and he worked for Allen Motors. In 1975, they moved to Manchester. Vic worked for Bob Stephens Motors and then the city of Manchester. He retired from his city job after 29 years of service. Diana passed away in 2004.
On Feb. 4, 2005, Vic married Mary Kay Fangmann. The couple resided together in Manchester. Vic was an active member of the Knights of Columbus in Manchester. He enjoyed the Iowa Hawkeyes, his dogs, classic cars, and 60's music, especially the Beatles.
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Mary Kay Dannenbrink of Manchester; his son, Craig (C.J. Jensen) Dannenbrink of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Jan Wood of Marion and DeeDee (Larry) Silver of Central City; six sisters-in-law, Doris (Dave) Lawrence of Dundee, Darlene (Steve) Cornwell of Greeley, Linda (Gary) Sigler of O'Fallon, Mo., Kathy (Don) McCurdy of Dundee, Terri (Ray) Cooksley of Manchester and Carla (Mark) Dingbaum of Robins; three brothers-in-law, Bob (Karen) Fangmann of Toddville, Dick (Leanne) Fangmann of Manchester and Herb (Mary) Fangmann of Rowley; and many nieces and nephews.
Vic was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Diana; a brother-in-law, Wayne Wood; and a sister-in-law, Rosann Hiatt.

Because of COVID-19 concerns, masks are recommended at the funeral home and church. Mass of Christian Burial with military rites: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at St. Mark Catholic Church in Edgewood, Iowa, with the Rev. John Haugen officiating. Visitation: 3 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, Iowa, where there will be a 7:30 p.m. Scripture service. Friends may also call from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the church. Inurnment at a later date: St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Manchester, Iowa.
