Vicky Lee Stetzel, 80, of Coralville, Iowa, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. A gathering of family and friends will follow from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Kirkwood Room. Burial will be held at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mollie Tibbetts Memorial Fund for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Vicky was born on January 2, 1946, in Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Norman and Colleen (Cramer) Andersen. She was raised in Audubon and graduated from Audubon High School in 1964, where she was active and well known among her classmates.
On May 28, 1964, she was united in marriage to James “Jim” Stetzel in Audubon, Iowa. Together, they raised their family in Brooklyn, Iowa, and later at Holiday Lake, before moving to the Iowa City area in late 1989.
Vicky worked for more than 30 years at Amana Refrigeration in Amana, Iowa, where she was known as a dedicated and dependable employee. After retiring, she continued working for a short time at Von Maur in Iowa City and Costco in Coralville.
Vicky enjoyed shopping, traveling, family gatherings, and reading a good book. She especially cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren and valued staying connected with family.
She is survived by her three sons: Gary Stetzel (Gwen Johnson) of North Liberty, Iowa; Jeff Stetzel (Linda) of Richmond, Minnesota; and Jon Stetzel of Dupo, Illinois; five grandchildren, Jake, Nick, Anna, Gracie, and Janie; two siblings, Karen Hegland (Dennis) of Coralville, Iowa, and Richard Andersen (Karen) of Iowa City, Iowa; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim in 2014; and sister, Jannie Fleming. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lensingfuneral.com
