Vicki J. Steffes (German), 53, of Marion, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. A memorial service in Vicki's honor will be on Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 2 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Family will start greeting friends at 1 p.m.
Vicki was born on Oct. 1, 1963, the daughter of Melvin and Shirley (Schanbeck) German. She graduated from Washington High School, the class of 1982. She enjoyed the outdoors, doing yardwork, gardening and planting flowers. When she spent her time inside, she loved to sew and scrapbook.
Left to cherish Vicki's memories are her husband of 21 years, Dennis Steffes; children, Eric (Brie) Steffes and Alex Steffes; parents, Melvin and Shirley German; brother, Dennis (Jill Hartwig Bean) German; and sister, Melanie (Chris) Perdue.
A memorial fund has been established.
