Vicki (Harklau) Hall, 72, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with visitation to begin one hour prior. A reception will immediately follow services
at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood.
Vicki was born July 5, 1949, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Marion and Betty (Allen) Harklau. On Aug. 19, 1967, Vicki was united in marriage to Michael R. Hall in Farnhamville, Iowa. Her whole world was her family. Vicki loved being a wife and mother but cherished being a Grammie. She never met a stranger. She would even treat store clerks like they were long lost friends. Vicki lived to care for others and did everything she could to make people feel loved. She led and lived with her heart. Vicki had a sense of play and never lost her childlike joy toward life and people. She delighted in the holidays and making them special for everyone. Vicki will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Mike Hall of Cedar Rapids; daughters, Teresa (Robert) Deitch of Polk City, Iowa, Angel Hall of Cedar Rapids and Wendy Hall of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Hailey Deitch (Alyssa Gerhardt) of Des Moines, Iowa, and Dawson Deitch (Maddy Hill) of Ankeny, Iowa; brother, Larry (Ardyce) Harklau; brother-in-law, Gary Hall; sister-in-law, Shelly (Bill) Berger; and many dearly loved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who were like family.
Vicki was preceded in death by her father, Marion Harklau; mother, Betty Harklau Webster; stepfather, Darrell Webster; father-in-law, Raymond Hall; and mother-in-law, Roberta Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
