Vickery, James Garland
James Garland Vickery, 82, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Heritage Nursing Home, Cedar Rapids. Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13,at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial: St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his siblings, Frances (Harold) Manhart of Cedar Rapids and Marguerite Smith of Jacksonville, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces,grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Pearl Vickery; brothers, Bobby Vickery and Luther Vickery; and wives, Lois Wilson and Betty Neville.
James was born March 21, 1930, in Gadsden, Ala., son of Henry and Pearl (Garland) Vickery.
Memorials may be directed to St. Ludmila Catholic Church or Kingston Hill.
