Viana Louise Horstman, 85, of Hopkinton, Iowa, passed away on May 12th, 2025, in her home surrounded by her family.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 10:30 AM, at SS Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, Pastor Hollie Knouse officiating, 21069 Prairie Hill Road, Monticello, Iowa, 52237. A luncheon to follow at the church.
Viana was born on February 24th, 1940, to James and Neva (Eiben) Baker in Iowa City, Iowa. Viana worked at Ertle’s toy factory in Dyersville for more than twenty-five years, and Cascade Die Mold located in Monticello.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth Horstman on May 22, 1999. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her cat Cuddles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Neva Baker; her son Bradley Covington and her two cats.
Viana is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Horstman; her sons, Bill (Sandy) Covington, Buck Covington, Bryan (Nicci) Covington, Kent Horstman, and her daughter Jessica (Adam) James; her brother Jim (Karen) Baker, seventeen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
