VESTELLA STORM CANTRELL

Vestella Storm Cantrell, 86 of Hiawatha, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at the Promise House Assisted Living in Hiawatha. A memorial service will be held in St. Louis, Mo., at a later date. Entrusted with the arrangements is Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Vestella was born May 17, 1935, in Vernon, Texas, the daughter of Thomas and Girlie (Bryan) Allred. Vestella was a homemaker. She most enjoyed the time spent with her beloved family and friends. She always had a smile for everyone she met and was not afraid to start up a conversation. Vestella had a great sense of humor, strong inner faith, was very outgoing, loving, caring, and was known for always putting others first. She was an avid nature lover, especially watching birds and cows.
Vestella is survived by her children, Nancy (Gary) Hanewinkel of St. Louis, Mo., and Beth (Mark) Sabadie-Koelm and Marie Sabadie, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a sister, Vera Poundstone of Cookeville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Bailey (Dustin) Pashia, Briana Hanewinkel and Mason Koelm; one great-grandchild, Lorelei Pashia; five stepgrandchildren, Jennifer, Jay, Nikki, Ryan and Laura; 13 stepgreat-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouses, Louis Sabadie and Elmer Cantrell; and a brother, Henry Bryan.
Vestella was a devoted and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend, whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful and compassionate staff from Promise House Assisted Living for their love, support and tender care given to Vestella.
