Vesta "Rose" Rae Todd, 66, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Keokuk, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery. Following the burial, there will be a time of food and fellowship. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Vesta "Rose" Rae Baxter was born Dec. 19, 1950, in Keokuk, Iowa, to William Earl and Garnet (Schaeffer) Baxter. On Aug. 3, 1985, Vesta was united in marriage to John Todd in Kahoka, Mo. Vesta enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, fishing, camping and going to Goodwill, but most of all spending time with family and friends.

Vesta will be dearly missed by her husband, John Todd of Cedar Rapids; five children, Ralph (Melissa) White III of Keokuk, Traci Sackman (significant other, Rob Taylor) of Hamilton, Ill., Matthew (Joyce) White of Keokuk, James (Amanda Daniel) White of Cedar Rapids and Christopher (Penny) White of Keokuk; 32 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Joseph Benedict of Edina, Mo., Jackie Winn of Keokuk and John Baxter of Keokuk.

Vesta was preceded in death by her parents; son, Brian Baxter; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Edward Benedict, Arthur Benedict, William Benedict, Judy Baxter, Lois Holmes, Carolyn Schultz and Richard Clarkson; and stepmother, Alice Baxter.
