Vernon David Stanley, 49, of Manchester, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016. A celebration of David's life will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Tower Terrace Mobile Home Park, 4032 Bobolink Lane, Hiawatha. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service in Cedar Rapids is serving the family.
David was born Jan. 27, 1967, in Iowa City. He had lived at the Abbe Center, Marion; the Penn Center, Delhi; and most recently, G and G Living Centers in Manchester.
David is survived by his father, Gary Bruner; a brother, Jerry Hunt; Alex Booth and Sam Sessler, who were like brothers to him; very best friend, Rose Ash; uncle, Joe (Carol) Dighton; aunts, Joyce (Bob) Slaymaker and Mary (Rick) Randall; and Strad and Chanell Dighton and many other cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Verna Jean (Dighton) Bruner; grandparents, Vernon and Ethel Dighton; uncle, Strad Dighton; aunt, Linda Dighton; and a cousin, Silas Gentz.
David's family would like to extend a very special thanks to all of his friends and families. He loved you all very much and felt love from each and every one of you.
