Vernon E. Dvorak, 80, of Prescott, Ariz., formerly of Walker, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at the Pleasant Valley Adult Care Home in Prescott.
Vernon was united in marriage to Janet Kayser on Oct. 13, 1956, at Sacred Heart Church in Walker. Vernon was born in Urbana, Iowa, Oct. 3, 1933, to Jesse and Emma (Koutny) Dvorak. He was raised on the family farm near Walker, which he and his wife farmed until 1979, and then moved to Prescott. due to health reasons. Vernon was a member of Sacred Heart Parrish in Prescott.
Vernon is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janet; his son, David (Rosemary) Dvorak; stepdaughter, Kaitlin Bell; stepgranddaughter, Madilynn Rose; sister, Evelyn (Cecil) Oldridge; brother, Wayne (Tedi) Dvorak; brother-in-law, Richard (Marlys) Kayser; nephews, George (Kathy) Oldridge and Steve Oldridge; and niece, Wendi Glass.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Henrietta Skallerup and Darlene Sullivan; and brother, Arthur.
Memorials may be sent to Good Samaritan Society-Hospice, 1065 Ruth St., Prescott, AZ 86301; or Pleasant Valley Adult Care Home, 2955 Pleasant Valley Dr., Prescott, AZ 86305.
The family would especially like to thank the care givers at Pleasant Valley for their loving care of Vernon.
A funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury St., Prescott.
