Vanous, Edward W.
Edward W. Vanous, 88, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at Buchanan County Health Center in Independence.
He was born Feb. 29, 1924, in Cedar Rapids, son of Joseph and Lydia (Umholz) Vanous. He married Marie A. Sebetka, Oct. 15, 1950, in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Marie; one daughter, Carol (Fred) Kitzman of Swisher; and three sons, Don Vanous (and his special friend, Julie Johnston) of Rowley, John (Cheryl) Vanous and Brian (Anita) Vanous, both of Quasqueton.
Funeral Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, White Funeral Home, Independence, with the Rev. Kevin Jennings officiating. Burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
