Vanourney, Leo
Leo Vanourney, 76, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center. A Celebration of Leo's life will be held at a later date. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Leo was born Sept. 21, 1936, and was an Army veteran. He retired as a supervisor from General Mills.
Leo is survived by his wife, Karen; his children, Jessica, Steve, Marty (Patti), Kevin (Deb), Jamie (Patti), Lisa and Tina (Berry) Ehrig; stepchildren, Scott Pearson and Jody Kubik; 12 grandchildren; eight siblings, Leona Waters, Dorothy (John) Crilley, Betty Supple, Don (Lorretta), Loise Cornthwaite, Katie (Gary) Gadient, Richard (Karen) and Frank; a brother-in-law, Brent (Teresa) Haddad; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
Leo enjoyed working in the yard, fishing, cooking and spending time with his dogs.
