Vanourney, Clarence J.
Clarence J. Vanourney, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, in his home. At his request, no services are planned. Burial was in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his son, James Douglas (Carlene) of Cedar Rapids; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, sister and a brother.
Clarence J. Vanourney was born April 29, 1921, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Victoria (Polansky) Vanourney. He graduated from high school and then served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On March 15, 1947, he married Ruby M. Franks in Troy, Kan. She died July 21, 2003.
