Vang, Tim
Tim Vang, 32, of Grand Prairie, Texas, formerly of Marengo, died Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Medical City Dallas Hospital in Dallas, Texas, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Funeral services: 1 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Marengo. Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Interment will be in Cedar Memorial Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. A memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his parents, Ying and Nan Vang of Marengo; and brothers and sisters, Feuang Kavanh (Mine) of Marengo, Theuang Vang of Fort Worth, Texas, Thing Vongvilay (Savany) of Marengo, Bouaphanh Sayachak (Jack) of Euless, Texas, Phairot Hoang of Joliet, Ill., Angie Luong (Anthony) of West Des Moines, Sengdao Vanlo (Por) of Iowa City, Vinai Vang (Jennifer) of Solon, and Lokhoy Brecht (Joel) of Altoona.
He is also survived by eight nephews, nine nieces, and the love of his life, Malee Souvannarith.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, a nephew and a niece.
Tim was born Oct. 2, 1977, in Vientiane, Laos the son of Ying Vang and Nan Quang. He graduated from Iowa Valley High School and obtained a bachelor of science degree in Management Information Systems from The University of Texas Arlington. Tim was employed by the YMCA Corporate Office in Fort Worth, Texas, in IT Systems Support. He enjoyed spending time with his roommate Malee, his family and his friends. Tim was an athlete and enjoyed playing tennis, football and working out. He also enjoyed working on cars.
