Vanderlind, Barbara J.
Barbara J. Vanderlind, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, following a lengthy illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Jay Jentick. Interment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
She is survived by her son, Bob (Sue) Vanderlind of Waterloo; daughters, Peggy (Jerry) Schneekloth of Ely and Sandy (Mike) Reid of Marion; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Maxine Berry of Michigan and Lenore (DeWayne) Monroe of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Bob Vanderlind Jr.; and a brother, R.W. Wells.
Barbara Jean Wells was born Oct. 29, 1924, in Pontiac, Mich., the daughter of Max and Eleanor (Smith) Wells. She married Ed Vanderlind on Feb. 14, 1942; they later divorced. Barbara worked for many years at Mercy Medical Center, retiring in 1990, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
