Valley, Paula
Paula Valley, 91, of Harpers Ferry, passed away at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon on Nov. 2, 2009, following a short illness. A funeral Mass will be said at St. Ann's-St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Harpers Ferry at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today at the parish hall.
Paula was born Sept. 10, 1918, in Harpers Ferry, at the home of her parents, Mary (Koski) and Patrick Houlihan. She was the valedictorian of her 1935 Harpers Ferry graduating class. In 1939, Paula married Cletus Valley, who preceded her in death in 1967.
Survivors include her six children, Roger (Marlene Duffy) of La Crosse, Wis., Ron (Sue) of Montgomery, Ill., Rick (Lynda) of Decorah, Vicki Ann Valley of Lansing, Nancy Richardson of Harpers Ferry and Shirley (Greg) Snitker of Waukon; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
