Iem Uon, 71, of Iowa City, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following an extended illness. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to Noon Thursday at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City.

Iem was born on Feb. 1, 1938, in Cambodia. He came to the United States in 1975 following the fall of Cambodia to the communists. Ien later moved to Kalona and then to Iowa City, where he was employed at IAC for 21 years.
He is survived by his wife, Sokounmany; two children, Terry and Tim Uon; his sister, Thon Uon; and his brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Dinnara Someth of Iowa City; and nieces and nephews.
