Tyree, James L.
James L. Tyree, 70, of Hills, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Mercy Iowa City. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2 until 8 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Jim's home in Hills, located at 309 Washington St.
James Loftin Tyree was born Jan. 5, 1941, in Birmingham, Ala., the son of Charles and Oni Leila (Loftin) Tyree. He attended schools in Birmingham, graduating from Woodlawn High School there. He moved with his family to this area in 1994 and he worked as a sales manager first for McGurk-Myers Chrysler in Coralville and later at Chizak-Sayers Honda in Iowa City.
His family includes his wife, Donna; sons, Chad Tyree and his wife, Becky, and James Jayson “JJ” Tyree; grandchildren, Cae Lynne, Brea Lynne, Raven, Lilly, Landon, James, Carson, Tyler and Shelby; sister, Martha Jane Wood; and mother-in-law, Jan Hawks.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charlie; and sister, Verna.
