Ty Roland Schuler, 50, of Cedar Rapids, died of natural causes in his home on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017.
Visitation will be held Monday, Sept. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at
11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, officiated by the Rev.
Phil Jorgensen. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ty is survived by his wife, Kristi Brown Schuler, of 24 years; his son, Trey, and daughter, Kayti, both of Cedar Rapids; and parents, Chester Schuler (Judy) of Waterloo and Valerie (Laney) Poyner of Cedar Falls.
Ty was born March 20, 1967, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Chester Schuler and Valerie Schuler Poyner. He graduated from Cedar Falls High School and the University of Northern Iowa. He was employed at Osco Drug/CVS for 21 years. He married Kristi Brown on April 9, 1994, and they were blessed with two children.
Ty was a great family man and loving father. Ty was deeply involved in his children's activities. He enjoyed sports, fishing in Canada and his friends.
His family and friends will always remember him as a fun-loving man.
