Trueblood, Donald LeRoy

Donald LeRoy Trueblood, 51, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, in Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Neb., from complications of leukemia. Services: 3 p.m. Saturday, Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where the family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Saturday. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his wife, Vikki; four children, Matthew Trueblood of Agency, Iowa, Christopher Griffin, Robin Griffin and Travis Griffin, all of Fairfield, Iowa; three grandchildren, Wylie, Madison and Tyler Trueblood; a sister, Donna (Don) Jenns of Manassas, Va.; and three nephews, John, Jason and Jeremy Jenns.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Don was born Nov. 4, 1957, the son of Clarence and Mary Ann (Donald) Trueblood, in Fairfield, Iowa. On Nov. 4, 2006, he married Vikki Steele in Cedar Rapids. Don was an owner/operator truck driver who leased to JRRW Transport of North Liberty for over 20 years. He loved his truck and enjoyed golfing and boating.

The family extends sincere gratitude to Oncology Associates of Cedar Rapids, Mercy Treatment Center, Mayo Clinic and Nebraska Medical Center.

Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or consider becoming a bone marrow donor, in memory of Don.
