Trudeen (Trudy) Ruth Claypool passed away Nov. 29, 2017, at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Services: 3 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will
be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Born on the 15th of July in 1939, in Nevada, Iowa, Trudy was the fourth child of Truman and Agnes Jarmon. She attended school in Creston, Iowa, where she met her husband, William Claypool. They were married in 1954 and, a year later, had their first of four children. Trudy was an employee at Collins Radio (Rockwell) for 32 years.
She was an avid bowler, loved fishing and playing the slots.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepfather; a brother, Ron Jarmon; two stepbrothers; a stepsister; her husband, William; a son, Alan; and a grandson, Brian.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Roberts (Sue) of Afton, Iowa; her children, Terry and Tony Claypool and Tami Haycraft of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Matthew Claypool (Nicole) of Cedar Rapids, Jennifer Claypool-Bennet (Dean) of Lisbon, Travis Claypool (Emily) of Raleigh, N.C., Spencer and Dalton Claypool of Cedar Rapids; and six great-grandchildren.
