Troy Alan Lawrence, 60, of Cedar Rapids, died May 17, 2022, after a short battle of leukemia/pneumonia. There will be a Celebration of Life from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at his mother's home, 351 Highland Ct., Fairfax, Iowa. The family asks everyone to bring a lawn chair.
Troy was born Aug. 25, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Marion and Jenny (Kopaitich) Lawrence. Troy was a roofer and plumber by trade, and a jack of all trades. Troy enjoyed living out in Las Vegas and Tempe, Ariz., as a golf professional. Troy was very talented. He enjoyed playing golf and softball, and most of all being with children enjoying life. Troy was a 1979 graduate of Prairie High School.
Troy is survived by the mother of children, Dawn Lane Kannenberg; his mother, Jenny Berger; brother, Marty Lawrence; sisters, LaWana (Jeff) Anderson and Lisa Lawrence; his son, Noah (Stacy) Lawrence; his daughter, Leah Lawrence; his granddaughter, Payton; his grandsons, Levi and Elliott; a special friend, Jackie Snyder; as well as his cousins, nieces, nephews and many longtime friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marion Lawrence; stepdadm Donald Berger; his daughter, Leanne Lawrence; his brother, Thomas Lawrence; and his grandparents, Albert and Mary Swenson and Anthony and Leah Kopaitich.
We will all miss you Troy, love you.
