Trenkamp, Rita M.
Rita M. Trenkamp, 79, of Hopkinton, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at the Monticello Nursing and Rehab Center in Monticello. Friends and relatives may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville, where a wake service will be held at 6 p.m. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Worthington, with the Rev. Dennis Quint officiating. A private family burial will be held at St. Paul's Cemetery in Worthington.
Rita was born April 22, 1932, in Farley, Iowa, daughter of Michael and Lena A. (Kramer) Leibold. She received her education in Farley area schools. On Feb. 2, 1955, she was united in marriage to Francis J. Trenkamp at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Farley. She was a member of St. Paul's Parish in Worthington and its Altar and Rosary Society.
She is survived by five children, Kenny Trenkamp of Hopkinton, Carol Letts (and fiance Kevin Zumhof) of Dubuque, Tom (Lori) Trenkamp of Marion, Donna (Brian) Boge of Dyersville and Dan Trenkamp (and friend Julie Hildebrand) of Hopkinton; four grandchildren, Dakota Trenkamp, Jacob Boge, Owen Boge and Travis Letts; and two great-grandchildren, Harley and Chole Letts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis J. Trenkamp on April 15, 2002; one daughter, Kathleen Trenkamp in infancy; one grandson, Kyle Boge; and three sisters, Hilda (Francis) Thor, Arlene (Marvin) Harms and Jeanette (Joe) wolf.
A Rita M. Trenkamp memorial fund has been established.
