Trefz, Dick Allen
Dick Allen Trefz, 77, of Coggon, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at his home. Memorial Service: 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Refreshments will be served at the Trefz farm immediately following the service, 1158 Monticello Rd., Coggon.
Survivors include his children, Randy (Doris) Trefz of Vinton, Cherie Dunn (Kevin Kula) of Coggon, Gary (Annette) Trefz of Coggon and Gail (Brad) Winn of Walker; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Trefz; and sisters-in-law, Judy, Elaine and Rhoda.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; two brothers, Bob and Bill; and three grandsons.
Dick was born March 25, 1936, the son of William (Bud) and Tina (Saathoff) Trefz in Coggon. On Jan. 25, 1953, he married Patricia Kay Penningroth at The Little Brown Church in Nashua.
Dick was a member of The United Parish in Coggon. After retiring from farming, they moved to Arizona, where he enjoyed going to the casinos and further traveling.
Memorials may be directed to the family in Dick's memory.
