Tony Edward Sadlon Jr. of Marion, formerly of Masonville, passed away on August 18, 2025, at his home in Marion. Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm Memorial Service at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Interment of Tony’s urn will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was born on October 11, 1986, in Manchester, IA to Tony Lee and Karen S. (Willenborg) Sadlon. He was raised in rural Masonville where he developed close relationships with his cousins and grandparents. Tony attended West Delaware School. He worked hard and he played hard, earning him the nickname “Moose” as a child. Tony held many positions throughout his adult life, many of them including farm work and manufacturing jobs. Tony was a jack of all trades. He was most known as a skilled welder, holding positions at several manufacturing sites.
Tony became a proud Daddy to a baby girl, Laney in October 2013. He was so proud of his little angel.
He enjoyed cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Seattle Seahawks, often “watching” a game over the phone with his Grandma or his sister.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors. He loved to go fishing, bow hunting and being the life of the party. Never a dull moment for those within his social circle, especially hanging with his best buddy, Ryan and other “Bros”, more often than not you could be sure to hear a “Hell Yeah” from Tony at any time. He loved to spend time with his family and was loved by all!
Tony is survived by his daughter, Laney; mother, Karen S. Sadlon; siblings, Stacey (Bernie) Oberbreckling and Tiffany Sadlon; half-sister, Sarah Harry and a nephew, Otto Oberbreckling and niece, Jayden Felts, his maternal grandmother, Ruth Willenborg and numerous aunts and uncles and many cousins and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Tony Lee Sadlon, his maternal grandfather, Fred Willenborg and his paternal grandparents, Kate and Ed Sadlon, and his cousin, Augie Willenborg.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorial contributions be given to the family in Tony’s honor, if desired.
