Tompkins, Hilda A.
Hilda A. Tompkins, 100, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Byron, Minn., passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at ManorCare Health Services in Cedar Rapids. Arrangements are pending at Dibble Funeral Home in Kasson, Minn.
Hilda is survived by children, Russell (Deanna) Tompkins of Kasson, Minn., Evelyn (Iver) Beck of Minnetonka, Minn., Donald (Stephanie) Tompkins of Austin, Texas, Kay (Gary) Kalis of Cedar Rapids and Susan Fiyalko of Clearwater, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; infant son, John; and grandson, Dwayne Fiyalko.
Hilda was born Jan. 10, 1910, in Itasca County, Minn. She married Clarence Tompkins on Nov. 6, 1935. They farmed in rural Byron, Minn., where they were active in church and community.
In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to Amenity Hospice Compassus of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Byron (Minn.) United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
