Tom L. Carlson passed away at the age of 69 on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, at the Marengo Memorial Hospital, Marengo, Iowa. There will be a visitation and luncheon at the Knights of Columbus in Victor on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018, from 1 to
3 p.m., with a small service to follow.
Tom was born to Folke and Clara Rauch Carlson on Nov. 27, 1948, at the Belle Plaine Cornbelt Hospital. He attended a one-room school, Hartford No. 8, northeast of Victor, not far from the family farm, and graduated from HLV Community High School in 1967. He was employed at Amana Refrigeration for 4l years, retiring in 2008. He also worked at the Brooklyn Golf Course and the DP Lounge in Victor for many years. Among his hobbies were fishing, hunting, bowling, golf, pool, rolle bolle, poker and casino.
Tom is survived by his sister, Donna (Frank) Robinson; sons, Rick (Sheila), Tony (Robin) and Mark; and brothers, Robert (Betty) and Wayne (Mildred). He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Floris Swender, Elsie Helms, Marilyn McCammon and Treva Gorsch; and brothers, Edwin and Harold. He also leaves 27 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and
-nephews.
Interment will be at the Ohio Cemetery, Ladora, Iowa, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Marengo Dialysis unit or the National Kidney Foundation through Smith Funeral Home, Victor, Iowa, which is handling arrangements.
