TODD GRABAU
TODD J. GRABAU
Cedar Rapids
Todd Grabau, 48, of Geneva, Ind., passed away suddenly from a massive heart attack on Saturday, April 4, 2015. He died while at work, and while you would say he was a landscaper/designer, he, as we all did, considered his work akin to a creative assistant to God's perfect outdoors. He died while doing a labor of love and as peacefully as anyone could hope.
Todd was born Nov. 10, 1966, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and is survived by parents Joan and Kent Boisen of Cedar Rapids and Jerry and Tonya Grabau of Geneva. His childhood years were spent in Cedar Rapids before moving to Indiana and graduating from South Adams High School.
His adult years were in Indiana, where he spent leisure time in his garden, fishing and playing pool. Most importantly, it was where he started his family, and is survived and adored by his three loving children: Zachary Grabau, who serves in the Army, stationed at the U.S. Army base garrison in Bavaria, Germany; Austin Grabau, following in his father's footsteps landscaping in Berne, Ind.; and Kylie Grabau, who is currently attending South Adams High School just like her daddy and will graduate in spring 2016.
His viewing and funeral were attended by a large community who loved, admired and respected Todd. Also in attendance were his longtime girlfriend, Anndra Deiser, and his four siblings, who all cherished their big brother Todd-E-Kins: Robin (Brian) Guzman of Keiser, Ore., Chad (Pam) Grabau of Berne, Ind., Holly O'Hare and Ryan Boisen of Cedar Rapids.
A celebration of life for Todd will be announced at a later date for all those in Iowa unable to attend the funeral.
Todd lived life to the fullest. He was a role model to many in his life, and while he is gone too soon and will be missed by many, his peaceful passing has been a comfort to those who loved him. He was a blessing to all of us and gave us all many magnificent memories that will live on and be shared.
A memorial fund for the children's education was established.
