Tobie C Bounds, 63, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of San Diego, Calif., died Thursday, March 20, 2014, at her home from a short battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, March 30, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Parlor Pub and Eatery. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Tobie is survived by Monty's children, Lisa (Mark) Reynolds of Tucson, Ariz., and Brian (Kimberly) Bounds of San Francisco; two brothers, Billy (Judy) Folkers and Bob Folkers, and two sisters, Bonnie (Jay) Eddings and Barb (Blake) DeMaria, all of Cedar Rapids; nieces, Lori, Shelby, Melissa and Scarlett; nephews, Todd, Nick (Stephanie), Chad, Billy, Robby, Cody, Patrick and Sabastian; great-nieces and great-nephews, Tiegan, Emilee, Andrew, Ben, Talor, Dylan, Katie, Isiah, Sierra, Camilla and Peyton; two dogs, Bijjer and Bailey; and many dear friends from school and California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Monty; parents and grandparents.
Tobie was born Dec. 7, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Billy and Doris (Schwab) Folkers. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1969. Tobie married James "Monty" Bounds on May 4, 2002, in San Diego.
Tobie loved spending time with her Iowa and California families, especially her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed boating with Monty, decorating her homes, spending time outdoors, especially gardening, and walking her dogs, Bijjer and Bailey. Tobie was young at heart and full of life. Her sense of humor and smile were contagious.
She will be forever missed.
