Tjarks, Lois L.
Lois L. Tjarks, 79, a resident of Northbrook Manor died there on Monday, Jan. 9, 2012. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Iowa Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two sons, Rick of Hiawatha and Tom (Barb) of Marion; a son-in-law, Chuck Beatty of Walker; and two sisters, Laura and Arlene.
She is also survived by four grandchildren, Tom, Michala, Dean and Arica.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Lorraine.
Lois was born on Oct. 11, 1932, in Greene, Iowa, the daughter of John and Dorothy Hall Scott. She married Richard Tjarks on Feb. 24, 1953, in Greene. They were later divorced. Lois was the head of housekeeping at the Townhouse Motel for several years.
She was a Girl Scout Leader and a den mother. She was a very talented artist; painting, drawing and doing upholstery work
Lois was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
