Tjaden, Thomas Randall

Thomas Randall Tjaden, 51, of Center Junction, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, in his home. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, rural Monticello. The Rev. Bill Nielsen will officiate at the service. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Internment: Wayne Zion Cemetery.

Surviving is his wife Donna; two sons, Blake (Nicole) of Olin, and Brett (Lindsay Harris) of Guernsey; four sisters, Julianna (Richard) Stoffel of Dubuque, Trudy Hines of Hopkinton, Sandra Deahl of Cedar Rapids, and Dianna Cerney of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Dan of Marshalltown, Steven of Atlanta, Ga., and Rudy of Dubuque; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Janine Tjaden.

Thomas Randall Tjaden was born Feb. 14, 1958, in Monticello, Iowa. He was the son of Rudolph Tjaden Sr. and Patricia Bennett. Thomas worked as a mechanic for most of his life. Thomas and Donna Appleby were united in marriage on Feb. 16, 1981, in Hobart, Oklah.

He enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family. He will be missed dearly by those closest to him.
