TIMOTHY "TIM" WOOD
Hiawatha
Timothy "Tim" Wood, 48,
of Hiawatha, formerly of Iowa City, passed away suddenly Saturday, May 29, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Following Tim's wishes, he was cremated. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 3, at King of Kings Lutheran Church with a visitation starting at 10 a.m. A livestream of the service can be viewed on the King of Kings' CR YouTube channel or the King of Kings Facebook page. Per COVID-19 guidelines, masks are optional for the service.
Tim was born to Darlene and the late Rev. Frederick (Fritz) Wood on March 11, 1973, in Saginaw, Mich. Tim graduated from Mason City High School in Mason City, Iowa, and the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. Tim was a talented string bass player and received multiple musical honors in his younger years. Tim had a quick wit and was known for his creative practical jokes played on his unsuspecting loved ones. Tim loved to laugh. He was happiest when he was fishing, reading, online gaming and cheering the Iowa Hawkeyes. He enjoyed summer get-togethers with his high school buddies and their families, weekly Zoom meetings with his local friends, and his online gaming community. Most of all, Tim cherished fishing with his father on annual trips to Northern Minnesota.
Tim is survived by his mother, Darlene Wood of Hiawatha, Iowa; sister, Kristin Wood of Atlanta, Ga.; aunts, Irene (Warren) Twogood and Helen Mews, both of Fort Collins, Colo.; along with many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, the Rev. Frederick "Fritz" Wood; grandparents, Fritz and Blondina Mews and Emma Wood; and uncles and aunts, Henry, Vernon, Delores, Muriel and Marj Mews and Foster and Ray Wood.
Online condolences may be directed to the family at www.cedarmemorial.com under obituaries.
