Tim was born Sept. 5, 1953, in Menomonie, Wis., to Robert and Doris (Timmerman) Steies. He graduated from South Tama High School with the Class of 1971. Following high school, Tim served proudly in the Philippines while in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed working with his hands. After returning home from his service, he began Rush Creek Construction and drove a truck on the side. In 1996, he moved to Belle Plaine. Following his retirement, he continued his service to the community by driving school buses and volunteering with the Belle Plaine Ambulance as an Advanced EMT.
Tim often could be found hanging out at the shed or just socializing with the guys. He was a joy to be around and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children, Jason (Sheri) Albertson of Wilmington, N.C., Christopher (Stefanie) Steies of Hudson and Elisha Steies of Belle Plaine; grandchildren, Adriana, Laila, Ethan, Olivia and Jack; siblings, Kathy (Roger) Schwake of Waterloo and Becky (Joe) Thiessen of Toledo; and many more nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Bill "Diz" Steies.
