Timmothy Aaron Montgomery, 61, of Tipton, Iowa, died Dec. 22, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, after a long illness from a fall from a ladder, March 24, 2013. A full military funeral will be held in East Moline, Ill., with burial at the Arsenal Cemetery later this spring.
Born April 8, 1961, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Timmothy is the son of Michael and Verlene (Montgomery) Hawker of Central City. Iowa. Timm graduated from Center Point High School in 1980. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, November 1982 until November 1986. He served in Korea one year, and in Egypt six months, during his tour of duty. He earned many awards during this time. On Dec. 17, 1994, he married Deborah Narveson of Urbana. After several small jobs, he went on the road as an over the road truck driver. He was employed by Foodliner truck line at the time of his injury. He was an avid bow hunter for deer, loved fishing and duck hunting with his dog, Casey.
He is survived by four sisters, Terri Butterfield of Hiawatha, Amy (John) Hromidko of Center Point, Jean Ann (David) Walter of Vinton and Beth (Jason) Otto of Center Point; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this spring.
