Tim Polton, 64, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away August 18, 2024, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. The family will host a Celebration of Life from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. September 1, 2024, at JW Pub & Grub, 58 Miller Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids.
Tim was born January 1, 1960, to Guy and Joyce Polton. After school Tim worked for many years at PDF and finally at Apache Hose & Belting. On April 10, 1999, he was united in marriage to Kim Clark Polton.
Tim was an avid fan of classic cars, Minnesota Vikings, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Nascar. You didn’t dare try to engage in conversation when his Vikings or a race was on. He was a big fan of Barret Jackson and Mecum Auctions and could watch for hours. He also loved his several El Camino’s that he owned throughout the years. He enjoyed going to car shows and loved watching the drags at Hawkeye Downs. Tim enjoyed his weekly Chinese from Pei’s and loved visiting with the family.
Tim is survived by his patient and loving wife, Kim; mother, Joyce Polton; siblings, Mike (Diane) Polton, Kathy (Jeff) Jeffords; brothers-in-law, Ty Clark, Tim (Barb) Clark, Dan (Lori) Clark, Ned (Michelle) Clark; sister-in-law, Connie Preuss and her husband; Tim’s best friend, Dirk; many nieces and nephews; and his cat’s, Sunny and Cherry.
He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Polton; beloved grandparents, Don and Noma Karr; mother-in-law, Janice Clark; brothers-in-law, Tim and Tony Clark; and his fur babies Jake, Dakota and Jada.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
