Thornton, G. Maxine
G. Maxine Thornton,
85, of Iowa City, died at her home Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, from cancer. Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at First Presbyterian Church, where the family will greet friends after 12:30 p.m. and a reception will follow the service. Arrangements are with Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice, 1025 Wade St., Iowa City, IA 52240 or to Friends of the Animal Center Foundation (Animal Shelter), Box 1345, Iowa City, IA 52244.
Maxine is survived by her children, Lynn (Pete) Sidwell and Jan Olive (Jerry) Full, both of Iowa City, Tim (Bev) Thornton and Pat (Mary) Thornton, both of Cedar Rapids, Marty Mitchell of Saguache, Colo., Peg (Tom) Erdman of Independence and Marilyn Thornton of Waterloo.
