Thornberry, Dean M.
Dean M. Thornberry, 69, of Iowa City, died peacefully with his family beside him, on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Mercy Hospice in Iowa City. Dean chose to be cremated. The family will greet friends Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lensing Funeral Service in Iowa City. A celebration of Dean's life will begin Saturday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Johnson County Dog Park Action Committee (to benefit the Thornberry Off-Leash Dog Park) or Mercy Hospice of Iowa City.
