Thompson, Pauline
Pauline Thompson, 98, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at the Anamosa Care Center in Anamosa following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at First Christian Church in Vinton, where friends may register from 9 a.m. until service.The service will be officiated by the Rev. Walt Grimes. Interment will be held at Bear Creek Cemetery, north of Vinton.
Pauline was born June 16, 1914, in Vinton to Carl and Leora (Sommerbeck) Epperson, and graduated from Vinton's Lincoln High School in 1931. In 1932, she was united in marriage to Elmer A. Thompson in Morrison, Ill.Elmer preceded her in death.
Pauline is survived by her children, Edward Thompson of North Home, Minn., Carol (Robert) Simmons of Central City and Sharon (Larry) Williams of Vinton; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, John.
