Thompson, Laverne Sears
Laverne Sears Thompson, 91, of Tama, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 14, at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Haven Cemetery, rural Tama. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include three sons, Kent (Sue Thomae) Wiese of Chelsea, Dennis (Penny) Wiese of Belle Plaine and Craig (Chris) Wiese of Conrad; two daughters, Sara (Ron) Feisel of Tama and Carol Garcia of Greeley, Colo.; three sisters, Helen Stephens of Toledo, Doris (Owen) Flanagan of Ames and Mary Lee McCurry of Grinnell; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a nephew, Ken McCurry; three nieces, Cindy Rose, Janice Coble and Jody Pietz; three great-nieces; and a great-nephew.
