Janet Lea Thompson, 61, of Decorah, died Thursday morning, May 23, 2013, in her home after a short illness.Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, at First United Methodist Church, Decorah,by the Rev. John Caldwell. Inurnment will be at Phelps Cemetery, Decorah.Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah and after 10 a.m. Wednesday, one hour before the service,at the church.
Janet is survived by her husband, Jim, of 42 years; her daughter, Shawn (Jon) Young of Decorah; her son, Lance (Michelle) Thompson of Sheffield; grandchildren, Tucker and Brody Young; stepgrandchildren, Cody and Clay Emhoff; her sister, Carole (Dick) Swanson of Cedar Rapids; her brother, Garth (Pat) Beatty of Vinton; sisters-in-law, Jackie (Dean) Werner of Van Horne, Nita (Don) Obermueller of Vinton and Janice (Terry) Babor of Marengo; brother-in-law, Ronnie Thompson of Mount Auburn; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
