Thomas, Wilma M.
Wilma M. Thomas, 95, of Tipton, died peacefully at 1:38 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at Mechanicsville Nursing & Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with the Rev. Ron Lashmit officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Iowa City. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Daughter of Fred Z. and Mary C. Vondracek Lukavsky, Wilma was born Nov. 12, 1916, in Riverside, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Vernon Dale Thomas on April 20, 1939, in Riverside. Wilma was a homemaker and a child care provider.
Wilma is survived by her daughter, Margaret Thomas of Tipton; grandchildren, Damen (Amanda) Wallace of Oxford, Travis (Jessica) Wallace of Oxford, Becky (Chuck) Donohoe of Solon, Josh Thomas of Tipton, Matt (Nichole) Thomas of West Branch and Benji Thomas of Tipton; 11 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Roberta Gesling of Tipton; sister, Alma Rummelhart of Lone Tree; and brother, Harold Lukavsky of Columbus Junction.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 14, 1999; son, Richard Thomas on July 20, 2008; two brothers; and one grandchild, Tyler Wallace.
