Thomas “Tom” Martin Roe, 84, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on October 25, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 4 - 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion.
Tom was born on February 23, 1940, in Arlington, Washington, the son of John and Irene (Shequin) Roe. He was a graduate of Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane, Washington. On October 9, 1965, Tom was united in marriage to Judith Foote in Seattle, Washington. Together they had three daughters. Tom worked for Rockwell Collins as a Field Service Rep. for 35 years, until his retirement. He was a member of the St. Pius Catholic Church. Tom was a master gardener and an avid wood carver, having belonged to the Cedar Valley Woodcarvers Club. His family fondly describe him as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Tom will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Tom is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Judy Roe of Marion; daughters, Sherry Roe, Gayle (Richard) Santora, and Erin (Justin) Downs; six grandchildren, Ava Santora, Emily Yates, Dominic Santora, Jack Yates, Jasper Downs, and Tytus Downs; brother, John (Jan) Roe; and a host of extended family members including nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Gloria Brundage and Kitty Silvera.
