Thomas Stelzer, 73, of Peosta, formerly of Anamosa, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Mercy
Medical Center, Dubuque, following a sudden illness. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sat-urday, July 5, at Goettsch Funeral
Home, Anamosa, where friends may call after 11 a.m. The Rev. Laurie Riley will officiate at the service.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Shirley of Peosta; four children, Jim (Michelle) of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Joanne (Victor) La Rosa of Scottsdale, Ariz., John (Sharon) of Webster City and Joe (Vicky) of Peosta; nine grandchildren, Marissa and Katelyn Stelzer, Nick, Schayler and Alyssa LaRosa, Jax and Davis Stelzer, Jennifer and Jon Schiller; and a great-granddaughter, Angelina.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Thomas Harold Stelzer was born Jan. 18, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Harold and Evarista Schwirtz Stelzer. He graduated from the Marion High School with the class of 1959. He continued his education at the Cedar Rapids Business College. Tom worked one year at Merchants National Bank. Tom and Shirley Sandstoe were married April 1, 1962, in Marion. He was employed for 40 years at Iowa Prison Industries in Anamosa, retiring in 2002.
Tom and Shirley spent summers in Longville, Minn., and winters in Peosta since they retired.
