THOMAS R. SOTELO

Thomas R. Sotelo, 77, of Urbana, died peacefully Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at his home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jean; a son, Thomas (Toni) of Etna, Wyo.; a daughter, Tonya of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Patricia (Angelo) Sorbello of New Jersey. He also is survived by three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Tom was born Aug. 2, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Thomas and Mae Benda Sotelo. He married Mary Jean Petty on Aug. 6, 1957, in Tipton.
Tom was a ready mix driver for Kings Concrete and retired from there in 1996 after more than 36 years of service.
Tom and Mary Jean were avid campers and he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, going to the casino and especially the time spent with his beloved family and many friends.
He will be greatly missed and his memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Vincent De Paul.
