THOMAS "TOM" KLOSTERMANN

Thomas "Tom" Klostermann, 52, of Dyersville, passed away after a brief battle with cancer at his sister's home in Marion on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave. SW, Dyersville, where a parish vigil service will be held at 3 p.m. and the Sons of American Legion Squadron 137 service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kramer Funeral Home before the funeral service.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate.
Tom was born June 23, 1965, the son of Alfred and Lorraine (Weber) Klostermann. He graduated from Beckman High School. He worked for area farmers and was most recently employed by Ra-Ly Transport in Earlville. Tom was a charter member of Sons of the American Legion Squadron 137.
Survivors include his mother, Lorraine Klostermann of Dyersville; sister, Joyce (Ron) Peiffer of Marion; sisters-in-law, Nancy Klostermann of Dubuque and Roxanne Klostermann of Dyersville; and six nieces and nephews, Chad (Anna) Klostermann, Kristin (fiance JJ Snyder) Klostermann, Heather (David) Martin, Sean (Ariel) Klostermann, Erin Peiffer and Brandon Peiffer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred, in 2008; brothers, Jim and Don in 2005; paternal grandparents, Alfred and Rose Klostermann; maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Mary Weber; and several aunts and uncles.
The Klostermann family would like to thank the staff at the Holden Cancer Center at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and the staff at Hospice of Mercy in Cedar Rapids.
