Tom passed away in Fort Myers, Fla., on July 22, 2023, at the age of 78, after a long illness. Internment will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023, at Cedar Memorial Garden of Serenity. The family will greet guests immediately following the service at the Family Center.
Tom was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Aug. 23, 1944, to James and Lorraine Wyckoff. He attended schools in Cedar Rapids, graduating from Washington High School in 1962. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in business and accounting. He remained a lifelong Hawkeyes fan. He began his career with More American Financial Corporation in Cedar Rapids. He later worked at Three Arts Advertising, Inc. where he remained until his retirement. In July of 1965 he married Diane McGrane in Waterloo, Iowa. Tom was very proud of his two sons, Tom and Bill, and adored his two granddaughters, Scout and Zoe. Tom and Diane enjoyed traveling both in the United States and Europe. They purchased a retirement home in Fort Myers, Fla., and moved there in 2010 and made many new friends along the way. Tom enjoyed all Florida had to offer, especially golf and fishing.
Tom formerly belonged to Elmcrest Country Club in Cedar Rapids and was a current member of Olde Hickory Golf and Country Club in Fort Myers.
Tom is survived by wife, Diane Wyckoff of Fort Myers, Fla.; sons, Thomas "Tommy" and wife Tracy of Cedar Rapids; and William Wyckoff of Iowa City; two granddaughters, Scout and Zoe Wyckoff of Iowa City and their mother, Sacha; and sister, Suzanne Wyckoff of Kansas City, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lorraine Wyckoff.
A special thank-you to the many friends, family and professionals who supported Tom through his difficult journey of the past few years.
